Coho in the classroom is a program in partnership with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Nlaka'pamux Nation Fisheries that intends to teach children about Fisheries and Environmental Management. The Purpose is not only to teach these students about their environment but to instill in them the importance of conservation.  For a number of years coho in the classroom has involved 12 schools in the Lillooet area. Both native and non-native children of all ages are involved. During the school year each class involved in the program is presented with a tank, 15 tanks are given out that will be hatching coho fry each spring. These fry will then be released in the Lower Seton Spawning Channel.
